Go Gold

This particular website and project was started by Girl Scout Audrey from the Hardscrabble Service Unit for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County.  After receiving her Silver Award in 2020, the next big project would be her Gold Award, finishing in September of 2024.  A Gold Award is of the same stature as that of an Eagle Scout, the highest award the scout can earn in their career.  The project must be self-sustainable, require 80 hours of service, and must help the community.  In her hometown of Farmingdale, she started the project with the initiative to help women in stressful situations.  As she grew older she realized the risks and implications of nightlife and wanted to make a difference.  As seen on the Posters page, some of these posters have been installed at locations on Farmingdale's Main Street so that the members of her community and those visiting may help themselves out of a stressful situation.  After asking staff at these establishments to participate in the quantifying impact surveys she found that the number of patrons asking for these simple services has since increased and many patrons and staff have commented positively regarding their mission. She would like to thank all the hands and heads it took to make this project possible and looks forward to her time as a lifetime Nassau County Girl Scouts unit member, to continue to make a difference in her community.
